CHER
Photographs say it all. One of the most iconic personalities of the 1970’s. C is definitely for Cher. Cher has won an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, an Emmy Award, a special CFDA Fashion Award, three Golden Globe Awards, and a Cannes Film Festival Award, among several other honors. Throughout her career, she has sold 200 million records worldwide. She is the only artist to date to have a number-one single on a Billboard chart in each decade from the 1960s to the 2010s.
A to Z on the Music Charts
Crocodile Rock by Elton John reach number 1 on Billboard Hot 100 on February 3, 1973 and stayed number 1 for three weeks.
A to Z At the Movies
Close Encounters of the Third Kind was not the top grossing film of 1977. If you look at the list of top films of the 1970s, 1977 was one hell of a year at the box office. Close Encounters is number 13 of the top grossing films of the decade. One of the many Steven Spielberg movies that you’ll see in my A to Z.
